I have always loved Heifetz. Here is a fascinating article about his tours to the troops during WWII. I love him even more now!

I love the part where he makes his house guests go outside to witness the lowering of the flag in the evening. A true patriot.

I enjoyed hearing about the audition process for the pianists, and I thought the story was hilarious (if not nail-biting) about the soldier rescuing Heifetz' violin!
